Tonight, the awards for the best short films in Europe have been presented!
The winners were chosen by two international juries and a youth jury. For the first time, as many as two Dutch films are among the winners in the European competition: Spoetnik by Noël Loozen won the award for best fiction film and The Sniper of Kobani, directed by Reber Dosky, won the award for best documentary.
Furthermore, Chuylen, a Crow's Tale (Cerise Lopez, Agnès Patron) won the award for best animation film and Quantum., produced by a group of artists named FLATFORM, won for best art film. The award for best Dutch film was given to LAZARUS (Gonzalo Fernandez) and Courber L'Enchine (Kadija Ben-Fradj) was awarded for best film in the Breaking Short student competition. Finally, the MovieZone Go Short Award was presented to Body Language Zone (Kim Saarinen). Tomorrow during the distribution of the Audience Award, we will announce the best film of Go Short 2016 according to the audience.
The special mention in the Dutch Competition is Son du Serpent (Tami Ravid) and our youth jury chose You Have a Problem (Esra Piké) as the special mention in the MovieZone competition.
